New toys for Reedville children
“We will continue to distribute the toys to the other areas until there is nothing left."
Reedville – Residents of Dal Fouche collected toys aimed at assisting crèches in Ward 74.
Councillor Thulani Simalane, his ward committee and metro officials visited Achievers Day Care to drop off the donated toys on Monday.
“The toys were collected in Dal Fouche and were then handed over to us.
We then identified twelve day-care centres within the ward who could do with the assistance.”
The group had already been to two creches in Mkhancwa to make similar deliveries.

Daniel Moeketsi, a member of the committee, says it is important to thank the residents for their contribution.
“It is good when people are moved by the needs of others and they actually do something about it.
“If we can take from what we have to help others, then we should.”
Happy Mosinyi, who runs the day-care, says they are very grateful.
“We use most of our income to buy groceries for the children and to pay the teachers.
“So the toys will be a great contribution to us.”
Happy adds that the program was started by her mother, to help the community, more than twenty years ago.
The centre has 16 children between the ages of one and four.
“We will continue to distribute the toys to the other areas until there is nothing left,” adds Clr Simelane.
