Kwatsaduza residents flock to fun run/walk

More than a thousand residents of Kwatsaduza participated in the 9.5km fun run/walk hosted by Tshipi Noto Funeral Home at Bulithando Park on Saturday.

KwaThema – People of all ages braved the cold winter weather to participate in the fun-filled day of activities, which included an aerobics marathon, soccer and netball.

Business development manager Tibello Sello says the initiative was part of the funeral home’s 16-year anniversary of offering funeral services to the community of Kwatsaduza.

“We wanted to find a way of giving back to our clients and residents for their continuous support of our business.

“We started the initiative last year on our 15th anniversary and in December.

“We are hoping to carry it through the years and many will continue being active and exercising daily.”

She adds through the initiative they were trying to encourage residents and clients to lead a healthy lifestyle and to raise funds.

“The proceeds we received from the participants will be donated to three different NGOs within Kwatsaduza.

“We will identify their needs and try to share the money in improving their lives,” she says.
