Gauteng police entertain residents during the Polmusca event

Duduza – Members of the police took time off from chasing criminals to showcase their love for choral music, cultural dance, band music, exhibitions of different cultural food, attire and style on Friday at Duduza Multipurpose Centre.

This was part of the 2018 Gauteng Polmusca Festival which is celebrated annually by the members of the police and the community.

Duduza police spokesperson, Sergeant Harry Manaka says this was the most extravagant festival where the police got an opportunity to showcase their hidden talents.

“The festival is part of the SAPS Project Harmony and was marked by a number of build-up campaigns that benefited the community of Duduza and surrounding areas.

“The community was mobilised through crime prevention campaigns and operations which also included a community Imbizo and crime forums, Women Empowerment against gender-based violence, and fight against drug and substance abuse.”

Manaka further explains the festival also saw the participation of local music groups, from local schools and the elderly choir from Botle Botle Care for the Elderly Centre, and the Tsakane Elderly Care Centre.

“The participants were treated to a spectacular show by the members from Gauteng who will be competing at the national Polmusca Festival to be held in September in Kimberly,” he explains.
