South African Liquor Trading Association in KwaThema is back in action

KwaThema – South African Liquor Trading Association in KwaThema has been relaunched after five years of not being operational.
The association, which is aimed at improving trading conditions for the liquor traders, held their first meeting on Tuesday.
Chairperson of the South African Liquor Trading Association in the area Aby Mabena says they decided to revive the association because many traders in the area were struggling to register their businesses.
“Through the years the local liquor trading were forced to become members of other associations in Kwatsaduza.
“The liquor board will not give trading licences if the applicant does not belong to a trading association in the area they are operating in.

“We offer services and educate our members about the bylaws, operating regulations, help them to register their business and help new members in registering their businesses,” he says.
Eustace Kheswa says they are calling on shebeen owners and those interested in going into the liquor business to register their small business with us.
“We are hoping we will be able to ease the burden of the red tape members go through in a bid to start their small businesses.
“We are calling the justice system to tighten their grip on liquor traders who don not follow the law.
“We have identified that there are traders who don’t close their businesses on time and contribute to noise pollution,” he explains.
