KwaThema – Residents braved the chilly wet weather to participate in the True Vine Tabernacle Foundation 4-6km
fun run/walk last Saturday.
The run was followed by an aerobic marathon seeing participants competing for the last man standing position.
The run was aimed at collecting sanitary dignity pads for the learners of KwaThema Primary School and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Pastor Eva Siyobi says the participants were expected to register with four pack of sanitary towels.

“The participants, aged between 12- 60 years, were encouraged to keep an active healthy lifestyle.
“The foundation was formed in March and part of the activities to empower the community we decided to adopt KwaThema Primary School.
“On the day we were able to collect 500 towels and raised R3 000 which will go towards buying more sanitary towels to cater for more learners,” she explains.
Siyobi says to date they have conducted motivational talks, donated school shoes and uniforms.

“We are calling on residents who are interested in donating funds or sanitary towels to come forward.
“The foundation is open to all the members of the community. W whoever is interested in making it a success is invited to come forward.
“We will only be able to change lives if we all work together to improve the lives of young people in our community,” she says.
