Roadblock held to help fight crime
“We are warning road users who choose to break the law that we will be on the lookout for them.”
Tsakane – Ekurhuleni East Cluster launched festive season operations during a roadblock last Friday.
This is after the Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, launched the roadblock on N3 near Heidelberg Road.
This will be part of the many roadblock initiatives carried out during the festive season by the Ekurhuleni East Cluster.
Tsakane police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mongomezulu says the operation was a joint venture between Ekurhuleni East Cluster, Ekurhuleni North, Vispol, Gauteng Traffic and other specialised units within the SAPS, led by Ekurhuleni East Cluster commander Maj Gen Girly Mumsy Mbele.

“This is to ensure that all travellers are safe and passengers are not carrying anything illegal.
“We were able to issue traffic fines, firearms were tested and people and vehicles were searched for any illegal firearms or drugs.
“We also made arrests for counterfeit goods and a substance suspected to be a drug.
“We are warning road users who choose to break the law that we will be on the lookout for them,” Mongomezulu says.
