Center needs your help for survival

“Child Welfare is an important office which is doing a lot for the children in the community. I am calling upon members of the community, business people and companies to donate to the initiative and support them.”

Tsakane – Tsakane/ Geluksdal Child Welfare is calling on business people to help the financially struggling centre.

Funds which the welfare organisation had at the beginning of the 2018 financial year are now used up and the welfare organisation is in need of funding from anyone who might be willing to support it in cash or in kind.

Supervisor for the Tsakane/ Geluksdal Child Welfare office Melinda Cupido says many children in the community are becoming more desperate for their help while foster children need placement and access to foster care grants.

“Many children who are victims of different forms of abuse need our protection and care services, but we do not have enough funding to reach out to every child in the community.”

Melinda encourages the residents to support the welfare which continues to render welfare services to vulnerable children.

“We need donations in the form of stationery, computers, food parcels and vehicles for the day-to-day running of our child support services.

“We also need help to develop our office in Geluksdal because not having offices is forcing the department to rent offices which we can barely afford due to limited funding.

“The more people who are able to help us reach out to needy children, the more efficient we will become,” she says.

Councillor for Ward 82 Henry Desmond Buitendacht extended his gratitude to the good and heartfelt work the child welfare is doing for the children in the community. He called upon community members and business people to support the initiative.
