Young footballers awarded for their hardwork

Duduza – Young soccer players from JST Valentine Academy were rewarded for their hard work during the award ceremony at Duduza Church on Saturday.

The academy was formed in 2016 ánd included the u-11 to u-17 and the senior team.

In the senior section, Junior “Juju” Tshabalala earned the player of the year 2018 award, while Sphiwe “Mshefezi” Mahlangu received the player of the year award in the u-17 category.

Skhumbuzo Skhumba in the u-15 and Thando “Ferrari” Sibanyoni in the u-13, earned the player of the year awards respectively. The award for the top goal scorer of the year, senior section, went to Siyabinga “Dlikidla” Mtsweni. Sphiwe Mngadi in the under u-17 and Bongani “Boka” Zondo in the u-15, received awards for being the top goalscorer.

The players’ special awards went to Banele “Bashin” Mabena in the senior team. Thando“Pedro” Tshabalala won the same award in the u-15 category.

In the senior section, the award for the goalkeeper of the year went to Tsepiso “Sjomane” Malakoane.

Simphiwe “Shavula” Tshabalala received the coach of the year award, while the community award citation went to Votile Jack of the Ekfm.

NellyMotsoagae was voted the most devoted supporter of women’s football.

Academy founders Thando “Pedro” Tshabalala, Sabelo Owabe and Sanele “Sankie” Zondo, were awarded certificates of appreciation.

The shield replica awards went to the academy’s chairman, Petrus Tshabalala, and Tina Tshabalala, the academy’s chair lady.

Tshabalala thanked the community for the support, especially the parents who allowed their children to participate in sports.
