Tsakane Secondary School achieve highest pass rate

Hard work is the recipe for high matric pass rate.

Tsakane – Matric 2018 learners in Tsakane pulled out all the stops to came out tops with most of the schools performing above the 80 per cent pass mark in the National Senior Certificate exams in 2018.

Tsakane Secondary School received a 94 per cent rate, up from their 82.3 per cent in the previous year.

They obtained 41 distinctions and 89 bachelors passes from the 157 learners who sat for the final year exams.

School principal, Pearl Ncobo says she is proud of the learners for working hard and producing good results.

“The learners deserve the good results because throughout the year they didn’t have any holidays and knocked off after 6pm on weekdays,

even on Sundays.

“We also started early to ensure that we completed the syllabus earlier in the year to give more time for revision,” she says.

Ncobo says she is going to continue with the strategy this year because it has proven to yield results.

Langaville Secondary School saw 88.5 per cent of their learners passing their matric exams, with a 3.2 per cent improvement from the previous year.

The school saw 122 learners sitting for their exams and achieved 21 distinctions.

School principal, Themba Mlangeni says the good results were as a result of the hard work they put in throughout the year.

“Our winning recipe is the team work between the teachers and learners,” he says.

MOM Sebone Secondary School received a 96.4 per cent pass rate.

Reshogofaditswe Secondary School achieved a83.1 per cent pass rate which is a drop from the 2017 pass rate of 83.8 percent.
