Cancer sessions in KwaThema

KwaThema – Cancer patients, caregivers and family members are invited to attend the CanSurvive Support group sessions hosted at Ekurhuleni East College KwaThema Campus.

During the sessions, the victims get to discuss and share their daily experiences and challenges with cancer.

The support group has more than 50 members affected by cancer and encourage others to attend.

CanSurvive director Ronnie Nkabinde says the topics tackled in the support sessions include difficulties they face while undergoing treatment, and how they cope with side effects.

“They also share on how to cope when living with the condition and how taking treatment affects those around them.

“We also have medical practitioners, psychologists, dieticians and oncologists, who share professional advice with the attendees,” he says.

Ronnie says the first session will be held on February 6 at Ekurhuleni East College in KwaThema at 10 am.
