Man in possession of a stolen vehicle arrested in Duduza

The suspect appeared in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Duduza – A 44-year-old man was arrested in Duduza on March 3 at around 9am after he was found driving a vehicle that was on the SAPS wanted list.

The vehicle was linked to a case of theft that took place in Johannesburg.

The case was registered at the Booysens Police Station.

EMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago says, “The Equestrian Unit members were on patrol, approaching the intersection of Vlakfontein and Duduza roads, using number plate recognition apparatus.

“A Nissan Juke was picked up as a wanted vehicle.

“The Nissan was stopped and the driver was read his rights and detained at Duduza Police Station on a charge of driving a vehicle wanted in a case of theft.”

The man appeared in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
