Committee raising players’ awareness of sports
“We are basically making the people of the KwaThema area aware of the different sporting codes we have and their available programmes,” says Kunene.
KwaThema – The KwaThema Sports Confederation committee will be hosting a sports awareness campaign at the KwaThema Stadium on July 27.
The aim of the event is to promote different sporting codes to township sports fans, especially the youth who have an interest in learning about various types of sports.
According to one of the committee members, Thandokuhle Kunene, the aim of the awareness campaign is mainly for educational purposes and sharing knowledge with other people to advance sports in KwaThema.

On the day there will be a showcase of various sporting codes.
The public is requested to show up in their numbers.
“We are basically making the people of the KwaThema area aware of the different sporting codes we have and their available programmes,” says Kunene.
The idea is to have cohesive sporting programmes around KwaThema.
They have basketball, netball, athletics, boxing, bodybuilding and soccer.
