Tsakane – Seven men, aged between 27 to 33 years, were arrested for hijacking a truck in Tsakane on Thursday afternoon.
This after two victims reported to police that their truck was hijacked in Harrismith.
They were allegedly forced into the sleeping area inside the truck, and the suspects drove with them to one of the plots in the Heidelberg area.

KwaThema police spokesperson Const Media Khoza says the suspects then offloaded the fuel tank and then drove the victims in a silver Nissan bakkie and dropped them off in Tsakane.
“Swift reaction from the Trio Task Team with information provided located the vehicle and found seven males in it.
“Upon searching the suspects, the passport of one of the truck drivers and traces of fuel were found,” she explains.

The suspects were arrested and detained at Tsakane SAPS, further investigation is underway.
“They will appear in the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon,” says Khoza.
