Two shot during attempted shop looting in KwaThema

“A fight broke out. When the suspect realised he was overpowered, he took out his licensed firearm and started shooting randomly, and the two were shot.”

KwaThema – A 24-year-old male was shot and killed on the scene, while a 45-year-old female was also shot, sustaining injuries. She was taken to hospital following an attempt to loot a foreign shop on Majola and Tsupa streets on Wednesday.

It is alleged a group of people planned to attack a shop owned by a foreign national. However, the landlord came out in his defence.

Provincial SAPS spokesperson Col Kay Makhubela says the landlord warned a group of alleged would-be looters outside his house to desist from their plan.
