KwaThema – 43-year-old man was shot and killed in his home in Ekuthuleni informal settlement on Tuesday evening.
The 40-year-old wife alleged that at the time of the incident, at about 9.30pm, while they were asleep, there was a knock on the door.
KwaThema police spokesperson Const Media Khoza says the wife said she went to check who was at the door. She opened the door and saw three unknown men.

“They requested to see her husband and she allowed them in.
“She further alleged that when she got to the bedroom to call her husband, he (husband) asked her to allow the males to their bedroom.
“She left the men and went to the outside bathroom, but within minutes she heard a sound of gunshots coming from the house.

“When she went to investigate, she found her husband in a pool of blood and when she called for help, the suspects quickly fled the scene on foot,” she says.
Khoza adds that the motive of the murder is still unknown, and police are investigating a case of murder, and request the community to provide any information that may assist in the investigation.
