Learners receive school bags from good Samaritan
The school bags were given to needy learners who are residing with their grandparents.
Tsakane – Sixty-four learners of Tsakane Primary School received brand-new school bags, which were donated by Thabo Steven Khunong (38), who earns a living by selling goods at Tsakane Mall.
Learners from Grade R to Grade Seven were identified by the school to receive the school bags.

“I was accompanying my son to school the other day when I saw a learner with a torn school bag.
“You could see his pens and books; seeing that I was really touched.
“Having a proper school bag I think will give them a sense of pride.
“It will help keep their belongings safe and it provides some security,” says Khunong.
The school bags were given to needy learners who are residing with their grandparents.
School principal Ntsoaki Tshandu says as a school, they are truly humbled.
“I am humbled that we have been identified.
“It shows that there’s a partnership between the school and the community.

“To our learners, I would like them to embrace the gift as a symbol of appreciation and love.
“This goes to show how special our children are, regardless of what situation they find themselves in.
