Tsakane learners receive school uniform donations from the local police
“We are showing them that we are here for them every step of the way and they can depend on us for basic educational stationery.”
Tsakane -Learners from Geluksdal Primary School received school uniform donations from Tsakane SAPS and CPF on Thursday.
The annual drive was made possible by the donations from local businesses and Woman and Girls Change Makers SA.
Tsakane police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu says as the station, they decided to initiate the programme to help improve the lives of learners from poor backgrounds.

“Members of the Tsakane SAPS buy any items of school uniform. The local mall and other partners also donate school shoes.
“We then identify one school and work with the educators to identify the learners who are in need.
“This year, 300 learners in the area benefited from the initiative,” she explains.
Mngomezulu explains that the main objective of this gesture is to prevent learners from opting to quit school because of their poor background.

“We also offered them motivational talks to encourage them to stay in school,” she adds.
