KwaThema runners prepare for 2020 Comrades Marathon
“We are planning to have more members participating in the Two Oceans Marathon and Comrades Marathon this year,” he says.
KwaThema – Long distance runners from KwaThema Striders participated in the 23rd edition of the Pretoria Marathon over the weekend.
The race was part of the official qualifier for the 2020 Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Marathon.

Tshepo Mogotlane of the KwaThema Striders says runners participated in various categories which include 10km, 21km and the hilly 42km.
“We are proud that our members braved the run and managed to finish at record time.
“We are planning to have more members participating in the Two Oceans Marathon and Comrades Marathon this year,” he says.
Tshepo adds that the team has introudeced a monthly club runs to their programme to help the majority of members in preparation for the marathon goals.
“The first official club run took place last weekend from Highland corner Shabangu at 06:00.
“All members and interested are urged to attend the training session.

“This will be part of the preparations for the upcoming Kosmos 3 in 1 (73.3km) marathon which will be on March 07 2020 in Secunda.
“This race is one of the popular races for the membership as it a good preparation race for Comrades marathon,” he adds.
He added that plans are under way for the Comrades marathon which will be held on the June 14 2020.
