Metro workers give back to the community

KwaThema – General workers from the water and sanitation department in Brakpan donated food parcels to a needy family on Friday.
The workers are divided into different branches within the area, and Nicky Hendricks who is placed in KwaThema identified the Bojabotseha family.
“We have been to this house a couple of times to assist them with their sewage and drain problems.
“That’s how we noted that they are facing a couple of challenges, and optioned to help them,” says Hendricks.
He explains that giving back to the community is something they want to take seriously.
“This family has inspired us to want to give back, and for us to do that each individual has to identify a needy family within their own surroundings,” he adds.
Colleague Mzwandile Nhlapo says: “With the current lockdown, we wanted to provide food which could last them for over a month.
“For the donations to be made possible, we all contributed R200 each and went to buy food for them.
“Our aim is to help more families.
“We might be starting small, but we are happy to be able to change lives one family at a time.”
