GBV fight tightened in Gauteng

“The foot soldiers in the war against GBV will be going into communities to encourage victims to speak out and seek help”.

Duduza – Victims of gender-based violence (GBV) were encouraged to speak out during the launch of GBV Brigade Programme at the Duduza Community Hall on Monday. Gauteng MEC of Community Safety Faith Mazibuko said it is about time we all join the fight against GBV. During the launch, the brigades embarked on a door-to-door walkabout in the area of Duduza where they engaged with community members and encouraged them to be ambassadors of safety against GBV by reporting all incidents to law enforcement.

She further warned against secondary victimisation when assisting victims.
