Sassa beneficiaries robbed of grants

Tsakani SAPS warns against robbers targeting SASSA beneficiaries

Tsakani – Local police are on the hunt for a woman who went around Tsakani robbing Sassa beneficiaries of their social grant cards. It is alleged the woman, who introduced herself as a social worker, visited the homes of her victims on September 2 and told them there were food parcels available to those who qualify. To determine whether the victims qualified, the woman told them she needed to see their ID and Sassa cards. “It is alleged the Sassa cards were then exchanged with old ones which no longer work. The victims realised this when they went to collect their grants the following day and their cards were not working.
