Free computer lessons for learners

Tsakani – NPO FundaZiphuthe Children Care Centre has partnered with Ikwezi Youth Computer Centre and Paris Shaker Foundation to provide computer skills to learners in Grades Five to Nine.
They operate from the Faranani Multipurpose Centre weekly from 14:00 until 16:30.
On June 12, the first group who attended the programme were handed certificates.

Founder Zelda Magagula (47) said technology is rapidly changing how people do things.
“Computer skills are at the forefront of our education; however, few primary and high school learners have access to computers.
“Technology is changing how we interact and consume knowledge and information.
“However, some learners reach Grade 12 without ever using a computer.
“We are trying to bridge that gap by providing access to learners from underprivileged backgrounds,” she said.

They teach learners theory and practical skills.
Magagula explained they are unable to take other grades due to a lack of facilities.
