Cricket club season underway
The win has progress the team to the provincial stage.
Kwa-Thema – The Kwa-Thema Cricket Hub/Club is starting the year with a bang.
The hub/club was crowned winner at the Cricket South Africa u-16 hub two-day challenge that took place on January 9 and 10 at the Lords Cricket Ground in Actonville.
They competed against Duduza Cricket Club and Actonville/Wattville Hub.
The win has progressed the team to the provincial stage.

Their season is due to end at the end of March.
Head coach Tebogo Gaduka said their plans for this year are to continue with introducing KFC mini-cricket at schools and that they will host regional festive cricket tournaments, for which dates will be confirmed at a later stage.
U-16 bowler Mpho Mngomezulu said he was happy with his performance but there’s always room for improvement.

“As a team, we have learned to support each other, which gives us great results.
“But it is important for one not to get too comfortable as there’s always room to improve on your game,” he said.
Last month, nine of the team’s players represented the hub/club at the school national tournament.
The team is also celebrating another great milestone, as player Nhlanhla Mashigo has been selected for the Cricket South Africa’s u-19 Colts.
Mashigo, who has been playing cricket for over 10 years, said he was jovial with the achievement.
“I feel privileged and honoured to be recognised despite where I come from.
“Cricket brings us together and I love the spirit of the game.
“I want to continue to do well and give my best with every game,” said Mashigo.
