Home receives donations from local business
New t-shirts and blankets to keep oldies warm throughout the winter.
Tsakani – A local business has given back to the elderly.
Tshipi Noto Funeral Home visited Tsakani Old Age Home on Friday. The organisation donated 30 T-shirts, 30 blankets and a special wheelchair for one of the pensioners, Henry Phiri (64).
The seniors were treated to massages and lunch as well.
Company director Thoko Tshipi said old people deserve to be loved.

“This is a continuation from last year’s initiative. We make it a point to keep in touch with the home and find out what do they need the most. We are already experiencing winter days so we hope the blankets will help keep them warm,” she said.
She added that on visiting the center she learned that Phiri was in dire need for a wheelchair.
“Our elders need to be take care off. When I heard about Phiri, I had to make a plan for him.
“Imagine having to stay in bed all day and night along,” she added.

Tshipi said without the support of the community their business wouldn’t have lasted for over 20 years.
“The support from the community has made us who we are, without them we wouldn’t be here today. Just because someone as aged it shouldn’t mean that they don’t matter anymore.
“There’s a lot we can still learn from them,” said Tshipi.
