“Running is in my blood – it is either I am running or unearthing athletes.
“I want to see local young people given the opportunity to compete in national and international marathons,” he explained.
He added they needed the support of the community and local businesses for young runners to succeed.
“We need parents to support and attend meetings and competitions to cheer their children on.
“These children need running outfits, which include tracksuits and running shoes.”
Many young talented runners are from poor backgrounds whose families often cannot afford to purchase the required items.
The club is pleading with local businesses to donate funds or running equipment to the club.
