Runners give it their all
Local running clubs competed in the Central Gauteng Cross Country event.
Kwatsaduza – Local running clubs participated in the second leg of the Central Gauteng Cross-Country event held in Dobsonville last weekend of May.
Teams fought to improve their finishing times. The results are:
• Bhayoyo Athletic Club
U8 1km run
Malan Musha finished the race in fifth position with a time of 07:37.
He was followed by his team mate Mangoba Ncube who finished sixth with a time of 08:08.
In the same category, Luthando Gama finished third with a time of 06:24.
Karabo Mosoathupa completed the race in a time of 07:10 and was placed eighth.
U9 1km run
Mahlase Moloto finished second with a time of 06:09.
Boys U9 2km run
Ziyanda Zwane finished the race in 16th position with a time of 11:09.
Youth Women 2 km run
Simphiwe Radebe was first with a time of 09:29.
Boys U13 4km run
Khomotso Musha finished in the 19th position with a time of 21:04.

Boys U15 4km run
Alizwe Siyokwana completed the race with a time of 18:32 and placed 19th.
Grandmaster men (60+) 6km run
Charles Vilakazi finished in eighth position with a recorded time of 30:27.

Veteran men 45-49 8km run
Sechaba Qhoaisa finished in the eight position with a recorded time of 32:39.
Junior men U19
Lefa Kwanele finished in the eighth position with a recorded time of 29:58.
Senior men 10km run
Moeletsi Moletsane finished in the eighth position with a recorded time of 37:48.
Mho Diako finished with a time of 38:55 in 11th position.
Senior men 4km run
Lesetja Papo finished in first position with a time of 12:52.
Senior men 4km run
Nando Mafuyeka finished 21st with a time of 16:16 while team mate Ayabonga Faku finished 26th with a recorded time of 17:23.

Zac Manson finished in 10th position with a time of 09:44.
Girls U10 2km run
Nonhlanhla Ncube finished second with a time of 08:49.
Girls U11 3km run
Lindokuhle Mokubong finished 16th with a time of 18:36.
Female U14 3km run
Ayanda Ncube finished in second place with a time of 14:10.
Boys U12 3km run
Senzile Dakamnyama finished second with a time of 14:29 while Daniel Manson finished in last position (22) with a time of 17:04.
Girls U12 3km run
Sanele Ngobese finished in the eighth position with a time of 14:25, while her club mate Katlego Mndau finished in 13th place with a time of 15:17.
Bongiwe Mapengo finished 17th with a time of 15:52, followed by her team mate, Nokubonga Mapengo, who was placed 18th with a time of 16:06.
Boys U14 4km run
Paulos Mnoini completed the race in 12th position with a time of 18:35.
Men U23 4km run
Tisetso Khumalo finished 14th with a recorded time of 16:37.
Sub-veteran women (35-39) 4km run
Ruth Manson placed second with a finishing time of 19:23.
Veteran women (40-44) 4km run
Maphuti Phaka finished in second position with a time of 17:42.
Senior men 4km run
Obakeng Moswane finished in 10th position with a time of 13:43.
Master men (55-59) 8km run
Thabo Hlako finished in eighth position with a time of 39:18.
