Join Cool Dads Foundation in book launch to celebrate fatherhood

The new book, A Father, A stranger - Mzansi Memoirs of Fatherhood explores what fatherhood means to different fathers.

Kwatsaduza – The Cool Dads Foundation will be celebrating Father’s Day by launching a book titled A Father, A stranger – Mzansi Memoirs of Fatherhood.
It features contributions from various African fathers.
The launch is going to take place on June 19 at Carnival City in the Rio Banquet Hall.
According to the foundation, they requested different black fathers from diverse backgrounds (social status, interest, tribe, education and family setup) to provide an account of how they grew up, their relationship with their fathers and its influence on their fatherhood.
“Two common factors joined these men; they were boys at one stage, and now they are fathers to their children, trying to either rewrite history or write a better story about fatherhood.
“These memoirs offer society an opportunity to understand the trajectory of fatherhood from a male perspective,” said founder Bongani Luvalo.

“Cool Dads Foundation is an NPO that facilitates, promotes, educates, advocates and supports a culture of positive fatherhood. We engage with fathers and remind them of their fundamental responsibilities towards their children and society.
“Our vision is to grow into a nationally recognised network of fathers with a passion for fatherhood, addressing the social ills stemming from absent fatherhood and reinstate the image of a father and dignity of fatherhood in our society,” added Luvalo.
The launch will start at 13:30. R350 gets a person a copy of the book and access to the launch.
Proceeds from the launch will benefit the organisation in its cause.
