Kwa-Thema model has big aspirations
The model wants to use her platform to uplift young people in her area.
Kwa-Thema – Model Omphile Makhele is currently competing for the Miss Jozi title and needs your support to help her bring home the title.
The pageant is a search for young, determined, confident, intellectual and well-groomed women, from the ages of 17 to 27.
Winners from the competition will be tasked with being role models and motivating the youth.
The 22-year-old finalist is also a hair model and was recently crowned second runner-up for the Style & Image ambassador search.
She started entering beauty pageants at an early age and has since won lots of titles such as Little Miss Tinker-bell.
Her runway debut was in 2016.
“My journey has been inspired by everyday life, being able to rise above fears and doubts, to gaining confidence. I can say that modelling saved my life and gave me a voice in the community,” she explained.
Makhele has been featured in hair shows and expressed her love for working with hair brands.
“From when I was a child people would always compliment my hair but always my love for hair made me pursue this venture. I love the creativity that comes with it.

“Being part of the Style & Image competition solidified my position in the modelling space as I always wanted to work with hair brands and that makes me so proud,” she added.
She is planning to do a school takeover where she will be distributing hair products to Grade Seven learners.
“Hair forms part of hygiene as well. I will be targeting this age group because this is the time when they are experiencing a lot of changes so I want to do something nice for them. They will feel cared for and loved,” said Makhele.
She is also the face and modelling coach for eKasi Fashion Week.
