Kwa-Thema – Aerobics instructor Cynthia Nomvula encouraged the community to lead a healthy lifestyle during the Kutlwano Social Organisation’s 10km walk and run on Saturday.

She hosted an aerobics session after the fun walk at Kwa-Thema Sports Complex.
During the session, she encouraged people to attend aerobics classes, especially on weekends, citing that it is good for the body and mind.
“A workout on a weekend is a good way to keep fit and active.
“It is also good for children as it keeps them away from substance abuse and other self-destructive behaviour.
“I always urge parents to enrol their children for these classes, there’s a lot to learn and they are fun as well,” said Nomvula.

Her advice to anyone who wants to embark on a healthy lifestyle journey is to start small.
“People have this misconception that living a balanced lifestyle is hard.
“You do not have to go big when you start, a simple morning walk can do the trick.
“Make sure that you stay hydrated and reduce the intake of fatty foods.
“Including vegetables and fruits in your diet will do wonders for your health,” she added.
The fitness enthusiast added that people don’t need to go to the gym for a workout but rather can try home workouts.
“If you do not have workout equipment you can always utilise some of your furniture, like a chair for example.
“Watch home workout tutorials on YouTube as well,” said Nomvula.
