Business robber sentenced

Malawian national sentenced for committing business robbery.

Kwatsaduza – Malawian national Ibrahim Fraizer Samanje was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment by the Nigel Regional Court recently.

Samanje was charged with robbery with aggravating circumstances and illegal immigration.

For robbery with aggravating circumstances, he was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment and for illegal immigration, he received a one-year jail sentence. He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

He committed a business robbery on November 11, 2020, at Builders at Tonk Meter Crossing.

Tsakani police spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mngomezulu said Samanje was arrested on November 12, 2020, and has since remained in police custody.
