Exquisite Fitness hosted its third annual event at the Duduza Multipurpose Centre on November 5.

The event was attended by aerobics clubs from all Gauteng regions and included provinces such as Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal.

The instructors’ line-up comprised instructors from Soweto, Pretoria, Katlehong, Wattville, Springs, Thembisa, Tsakani, Brakpan, Selcourt, Duduza, Kwa-Thema, Mpumalanga – Witbank and KwaZulu-Natal.

The programme of the day included the following disciplines:

1. Warm-up
2. Step box
3. Step
4. Functional
5. Hilo
6. Box (cardio)

“In the functional category, we had prizes for the participants and had five female and five male winners. Some of the prizes were sponsored by stakeholders such as NetSo – Unity Kasi Brand, Bluegum View Supermarket, The Jobe Foundation and Tshipi Noto Funeral Services. We are grateful to all,” said the instructor and Exquisite Fitness Director, Sibusiso Mabaso.

According to Mabaso, the purpose of this event was to showcase different ways of reaching health and fitness goals. It was also to expose people and society to aerobics, which provides exercise while having fun.

“We had instructors from the deaf and the LGBTQIA+ communities joining us on the programme. The plan is to host this event annually to reach more people within our region and across the country.

“We do also at times get people joining us from SADC countries such as Lesotho and Botswana to name a few,” said Mabaso.

Exquisite Fitness has its aerobics classes on Mondays to Thursdays from 17:00 to 19:00 at the Duduza Multipurpose Centre.

Mabaso concluded, “We would like to invite possible sponsors keen to be part of the craft to sponsor our events. We call on our communities to be more active and join any kasi aerobics and athletic sports.”
