Badminton team for the disabled

Para-badminton team to be launched.

Duduza – Eyethu Badminton Development Team recently hosted Para-Badminton Shuttle Time lessons at the Duduza Multipurpose Centre.

Coach Bongani Simelane said, “I was teaching them the basics such as handling of rackets and how to grip, different movements and eye coordination.

“There were 30 participants and they enjoyed themselves.”

The development’s director, Samuel Mongala said they hope to establish a team of people living with disabilities and be affiliated with the relevant federations and leagues.

Meanwhile, Mongala said they will be at Highlands Park in Kwa-Thema on November 19 to give lessons to the children from Kwa-Thema.

He said he encourages parents to bring their children to join and have fun while learning the sport.
