Kwa-Thema seniors lose away game against Avion
Kwa-Thema to work hard to strengthen their batting department.
Kwa-Thema – Kwa-Thema senior team lost by five wickets in their Eastern Premier League encounter against Avion at Hoërskool Kempton Park oval on January 22.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Kwa-Thema were bundled out for 220 inside 44 overs with Koketso Nkonoane top scoring with 64 runs.
In response, Avion reached their target inside 37 overs, posting 222/5 to win by five wickets with 13 overs left.
Ofentse Mathehe was the peak of the bowlers for Kwa-Thema as he returned with figures of 3/25 in 10 overs (one maiden over).
Coach Tebogo Gaduka complimented his team for their batting display but said they needed to work on their fielding and bowling.
“Our boys showed maturity in the batting department. They brought back the Kwa-Thema brand of batting.
“We just need to work hard and plan well in the bowling department,” he said.
