Kwa-Thema Disability Club has been nominated for the Gauteng Sports Awards

Disability Club players were selected to represent Gauteng in Cape Town.

Kwa-Thema – Kwa-Thema Disability Club has been nominated in the community of the year category of the Gauteng Sports Awards.

Club athlete Dimakatso Letageng (22) was nominated for the same awards for women with disability of the year.
Letageng has been with the club for five years now.

The disability club has three sporting codes; para-athletics, wheelchair tennis and CP soccer.

“I am happy with the nomination, our children worked hard and deserve this,” said club chairperson and para-athletics coach Aubrey Mathibela.

“We are also grateful to the community of Kwa-Thema and the parents for their support.

“We would also like to thank Jabu Kubheka for supporting us during trials as he always provides us with transport and also Willy Msomi who always pays for the children’s affiliation in the club,” said Mathibela.

The award ceremony will take place on February 18 at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), Soshanguve South Campus.

The registration will start at 15:00 while the gala event will start at 17:00.
