Duduza – Refiloe Tshabalala (13) of Eyethu Badminton Development Club took part in the U15 Regional Open in Alberton on January 28.
Tshabalala won a silver medal after losing the final game.
In July, Tshabalala represented the Eastern Gauteng Badminton Association at the South African U13 Inter-Provincial Championships held in Durban. She came second in three categories: singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
She was then selected to join the SA U15 National Team.
“Tshabalala is a Grade Eight learner at Tandi Siseko Secondary School. She is very active in badminton and a hard worker. We are very proud of her,” said Roller Mongala, the director of Eyethu Badminton.
