All Stars played their first home game at the Tsakani Stadium
The Stars completed the game one player down.
Tsakani – It was an action-packed Saturday at the Tsakani Stadium when the All Stars hosted Platinum City Rovers in the Motsepe Foundation Championships at what was their first home game played at the stadium.
The day saw the Stars score the first goal within the first 20 minutes and lose a player in the first half because Siphelo Baloni committed a foul and was red-carded.
In the first half, the Stars had built a wall difficult for the Rovers to penetrate. Rovers equalised within 75 minutes of the game after returning stronger and holding the best ball possession in the field.
The Stars’ shots on target were five compared to the Rovers’ three. Shots off target were Stars five and Rovers 10.

The game saw the Stars get four yellow cards and one red, while the Rovers got two yellow cards. Rovers only made one substitution in the 90 minutes of the game, and Stars made four changes.
Currently, the Stars are at position six on the log with 32 points, dropping one position from position five before the match, and Rovers are in position 11 with 26 points.
Stars assistant coach Sibusiso ‘coach Zuma’ Zungu said they had a good game and created chances, though they couldn’t convert them after the red card.
“We had to make changes after the red card, and that disturbed us a lot. We were hoping for a win, we were stronger, but we do appreciate the draw,” concluded Zungu.
