Namo ready for his second Comrades Marathon
To achieve this goal, he must complete the race between six and seven hours and 30 minutes.
Kwa-Thema – Buti Namo has dedicated himself to winning a silver medal at the Comrades Marathon.
To achieve this goal, he must complete the race between six and seven hours and 30 minutes.
He started running four years ago after watching their Comrades Marathon.
The 41-year-old, a member of the Kwa-Thema Striders, conquered last year’s Comrades Marathon and hasn’t looked back.

Namo said he always doubted his strength as a runner and thought he needed special skills to tackle long-distance running.
“I started with local fun runs and gradually graduated to long distances after the Covid-19 lockdown regulations were relaxed. I feel free when I am on the road and chasing time,” he added.
He has started preparing for his second Comrades Marathon.

On Saturday, he competed in the Benoni Northern Athletics Club Marathon and finished in the top 20 men’s 42.2km in a time of 03:12.
Namo said the race was not challenging because he had trained on the steep slopes along Duduza and ensured that he tackled the two laps differently to retain his stamina.
“My preparation was to use the race to qualify for Comrades like I did last year.
“I am now preparing to tackle the Two Oceans Marathon on April 15. This will be my preparation and training for the Comrades,” he said.
