Real Barcelona FC honours top players

Real Barcelona’s Peter Chukwuegbo (13) was crowned the team’s defender and player of the season.

Langaville – Real Barcelona FC hosted its first prize-giving to honour their U13 team on Saturday.

The team finished second in the 2022 Springs League Games, having scored 102 goals in total.

Team coach Mzwakhe Dlongolo said the team worked hard and deserved appreciation for their efforts.

Tshiamo Nkosi, who scored 46 goals in the season, is the leading goal scorer. Peter Chukwuegbo (13) was crowned the team’s defender and player of the season.

The other 25 team members received medals from the league. Mzwakhe said the team wished to include other groups, but due to financial constraints, they couldn’t.

“Our players have improved their skills on the field over the years and deserve to be shown appreciation.

“This encourages us to work harder in the new season and to finish first. We are calling on young people interested in joining the team to come forward,” he added.

The team also calls on local businesses to come on board.
