Sipho Mahlangu, matched with a boxer from Geo Maroon Boxing Club, won in the first round.
It was his first match this year after being unsuccessful in finding a match in the region. Total Success Boxing Club coach Lwazi Xundu said he was proud of his boxers who showed improvement in the ring.
“They implemented all the recommendations, and we have also identified problem areas that we will target and fix during gym.
“Every successful sportsman knows the recipe for improvement is in listening to advice and implementing it,” he added.

Xundu said his club focuses mainly on development and caters for those as young as six and older.
“One of our primary goals is to remove young people from the streets. By doing that, we empower them through sports.
“Over the years, we have seen our boxers enjoy the opportunity to fight in international competitions and bring back medals,” he said.
Xundu said they plead with parents to be more involved by supporting their children at matches and other needs that may arise.
