Hijacked car recovered in Tsakani

EMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent Kelebogile Thepa said members followed up on the information and the description given matched that of a reported hijacked car.

Tsakani – A white Toyota Hilux double cab LDV was recovered in Kwa-Thema on Sunday after it was spotted in the area by EMPD Tsakane Precinct Officers.

The officers received information from a vehicle tracking company that a vehicle hijacked in the early hours of Sunday morning in Kwaggafontein had been identified in Tsakani.

EMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent Kelebogile Thepa said members followed up on the information and the description given matched.

The car was found abandoned on Kgope Street in Tsakani.

“Although no arrests have been made, all the necessary stakeholders were summoned to the scene. The vehicle was taken for safekeeping to the Van Ryn Deep pound in Benoni,” she added.
