Tennis players from Kwa-Thema did well in Benoni

Kwa-Thema – The Kwa-Thema Sparks Tennis Club participated in the Wilson Singles Tennis Tournament on Sunday at the Geta Tennis Centre in Benoni.

There were four sections in the tournament:
• Red Ball Section – five to nine years old

• Orange Ball Section – eight to 11 years old

• Green Ball Section – eight to 13 years old

• Hard Ball Section – 13 to 19 years old.

The Sparks players participated in three of the four sections: orange ball, green ball and hardball.

The results are:
• Reabetswe Magagula – first in hard ball U16

• Nhlakanipho Mtsweni – first also in hardball U16

• Moleboheng Magagula – fifth in hardball U14

• Mathutho Mabaso – second in hardball U14

• Sihle Kodisang – fifth in hardball U16.

Five other players from the team got positions three and four in all three sections, respectively.

Coach Rita Tsoari said the players are improving.

“The more they play in tournaments, the more improvement we see and I’m satisfied with that,” said Tsoari.

She wishes and hopes to see more children from local primary schools joining the Sparks.
