Nkabinde Primary School girls’ team place second in provincial tournament

The tournament took place in Krugersdorp on Friday

Kwa-Thema – After qualifying to play in the provincial winter games, Nkabinde Primary School’s girls’ soccer team represented Ekurhuleni in Krugersdorp on Friday where they placed second.

The girls have been doing well and have progressed from local competitions to the provincial level.

They played seven games on Friday, of which they won one and drew the rest.

A teacher at the school and the girls’ coach, Sphelele Khumalo, said, “We would have liked to win all the games, however, we are still happy with the draws which at least were not a loss.”

Khumalo said he is proud of how the girls performed as they worked hard to get there.

“The girls are happy and everyone at the school is happy as well,” he concluded.

The provincial level was the last stage of the winter games.
