Ext 4 Phase One patrollers use sports to fight social ills

Last Town FC walked away as champions of the tournament.

Kwa-Thema – The patrollers in Ext 4 Phase One hosted a June 16 football tournament at an informal soccer ground on Friday and Saturday.

The tournament saw eight teams participating with Dali Dali FC and Last Town FC playing in the finals. Last Town FC walked away as champions, beating the opponents 7-5.

They won R1 000 cash and a trophy while Dali Dali FC received R400 cash and silver medals.

Organiser David Makopo said the initiative was one of the many tournaments that they will be hosting to keep the youth busy.

“We will be registering a soccer team from the players who participated,” he added.

They are planning to host such events twice a year.
