Sanders United win league

Victory for Sanders United in the Springs LFA Super League.

Kwa-Thema – After 10 months of dribbles, tackles, goals and fouls, Sanders United emerged victorious as the 2022/23 Springs LFA Super League champs.

The season came to an end on Sunday at the Kwa-Thema Sports Complex. United topped the log for most of the season and was defeated once, but they returned stronger to win all their remaining games.

They won the season after beating Reedville United in the last game 4-1.

Sanders completed the season with 83 points. Close behind was Valencia FC with 81 points, and in third was Reedville United with 78 points.


Sanders United won the 2023/23 SLFA Super League.

As the season ended, Black Fighters was at the bottom of the log with eight points, while Kwa-Thema United was in position 17 with 13 points.

Sanders coach Vusi ‘Terror’ Zulu said he was happy to have won the league after 10 months of sleepless nights. However, they reaped the rewards of their hard work.

“The plan was simple. We were running our own race, giving our all in all the games, and we ensured we met our target set before the season started,” Zulu said.

According to him, the average age of the team’s players is 22, and he is glad that, despite all odds, they thrived.
