Senior karateka to participate in international training

Dr Edward Mtshali said he is proud of the senior karatekas in his team who have qualified to participate in the event.

Kwa-Thema – Mtshali Japenese Karate Association Club senior instructors will be participating in the International Japenese Shihankais training session to be held in Johannesburg from July 25 to 29.

Senior trainers from Japan and Africa will participate in the event. This is an important event because senior karateka will be able to grade to a higher level.

Dr Edward Mtshali said he is proud of the senior karateka in his team who have qualified to participate in the event.

“This is an opportunity of a lifetime that many wanted to be in but failed to qualify. We are hoping that they will plough back the knowledge to improve the sport in Kwa-Thema,” he added.

• Training, grading and qualifications will take place from July 25 to 27.

• On July 28 and 29 the Africa Cup Tournament will be held. Also, South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa dan grading will be done, as well as shodan to rokudan, qualification exams for institution A, B, C and D and examiner for B, C and D.
