Kwatsaduza – Heritage Month is when people celebrate diverse cultures. This fact led traditional leaders from Kwatsaduza to devise a Heritage Day event to promote tradition and culture in the community.
Chief Thembinkosi Vazi Ngingi said most leaders would be at their homesteads on September 24, but that didn’t mean Kwatsaduza could not celebrate Heritage Day.
“This is an event that will bring us together as one. As people, we should stop being tribal, and this event will help,” he said.
Ngingi said those attending should dress in their traditional attire and bring traditional dishes to share.

“Xhosas may bring umngqusho, Pedis may come with mašotša and so forth. We will eat dishes from different cultures while embracing heritage,” he continued.
Ngingi said they also needed sponsors for the event.
He added that the United Traditional Leaders of Gauteng will have a traditional celebration in Thembisa on October 14, and there would be free transport for those wanting to attend.
The event is on September 24 at Chief Mabena’s place, 1953 Black Road, Ext 7, next to Duduza Rank, at 10:00.
