Foundation keeps Kwa-Thema clean
The Ratamakgopa Foundation, an NPO, keeps Kwa-Thema clean.
Kwa-Thema – The Ratamakgopa Foundation, an NPO, cleaned the streets in Tornado. The group started by cleaning the Kwa-Thema Police Station and now Thema Road.
Reverend Mpho Mashalaba, the project manager, said the NPO comprised members of various churches who cleaned Kwa-Thema.
“We run as a group of 30 volunteers getting a stipend from the foundation,” he said.
“I was appointed to manage the team, and we aim to ensure that Kwa-Thema, especially the main roads, is clean.
We also target churches, schools, the police station and other institutions,” he continued.
He said they faced challenges because people threatened to prevent them from cleaning. These people claimed the CoE initiated the project and frequently asked how they were hired.
“We pride ourselves as a foundation that our cleaning project gets some people to appreciate us and even encourage us to keep up the good work,” he concluded.
