Kwa-Thema pensioner shares her secret to long life
She is blessed with 11 children with eight still alive, 44 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 50 great-great-grandchildren.
Kwa-Thema – The Mahlangu family celebrated the life of gogo Sadi Paulina Mahlangu on Saturday.
The 106-year-old from the Highland section was surrounded by four generations during the thanksgiving ceremony.
The big event was part of the family’s heritage celebration where they imparted the history and knowledge of the Ndebele heritage to the young generation.
She is blessed with 11 children with eight still alive, 44 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 50 great-great-grandchildren.
Though she has lost her eyesight over the years she still insists on doing some tasks herself.
The pensioner believes her secret to a long life is fearing God, respect and eating morogo and other traditional food.
She encouraged young people to respect their elders at all times.
