Consistent hard work leads to success

Tsakane Secondary School produces another star.

Nqobile Mathebula’s superpower is consistency, and that is how she achieved four distinctions in her NSC exams for 2023.

The Tsakane Secondary School matriculant obtained distinctions in English First Additional Language, life orientation, physical sciences and mathematics (98%). She has been an outstanding learner throughout her school career.

“The only thing I had in my head all these years was to change my family’s situation. I want to make sure that we live a better life one day soon,” she explained.

Mathebula said she made it a habit to study every day.

“I limited the time I spent with friends. I was indoors always. I knew it would pay off one day,” she added.

She believes education can open doors that can improve her life.

“I have seen people in my community who did not finish school. Some have children when they are very young. People suffer because they lack education.

“I want to bring change around me. No matter how hard the situation, we can do better,” she said.

She is planning to study mining engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand.

“I would encourage every young person not to think you are incapable.

“Nothing is impossible. You can achieve whatever you want if you put in all you have.

“Life is not smooth; you won’t have everything you need all the time, or everything happening the way you wish,” she concluded.
