iDiskie Nine-Nine gives juniors a platform
Emotions were high because each team wanted to be at the top of their group.
This year’s edition of iDiskie Nine-Nine Easter Tournament is all for the juniors. Established in 2021, this is the first instalment of the tournament exclusively featuring youngsters.
“We received many requests from young soccer players to feature them, and, finally, the decision makers approved for this edition to be the Easter School Holidays Junior Tournament,” explained Kamogelo Mathe from the organisation.
The competition caters for U11 to U21 players.
“We want to keep them entertained during holidays, but it is also a platform for them to display their talents,” he added.
Mathe said they hope the players get exposure to professional opportunities after the tournament.
Saturday’s U11 results:
Each team had two U11 groups that played on the day at Bluegumview Ground 2.
Group one:
- Clever Boys 0 – 1 Inter Milan
- Jury J Stars 0 – 2 Jst Valentin
- Regal FC 0 – 3 Ratanda Fast XI
- Italian 2 Touch 4 – 2 Siwelele.
Each team had two U11 groups that played on the day at Bluegumview Ground 2.
Group two:
- Clever Boys 0 – 1 Inter Milan
- Jury J Stars 0 – 2 Jst Valentin
- Regal FC 0 – 4 Ratanda Fast XI
- Italian 2 Touch 2 – 4 Siwelele
U13 results:
- Inter Milan 3 – 2 Elite Sport
- Jury J Stars 0 – 2 Tsakane Vultures
- Clever Boys 2 – 3 Amadumane
- Italian 2 Touch 2 – 0 JSS Academy
- Jst Valentin 0 – 6 Ratanda Fast XI
- Regal FC 1 – 0 1496.
The tournament will end on April 1.
